The History of Synthetic Grass

Synthetic Grass started in the U.S. with a product called Astroturf, first used in the Astrodome in Huston Texas for American football.

The name became generic for synthetic grass. The first manufacturer in Australia was Supergrass back in the seventies, before other Australian manufacturers joined the market over the last twenty years.

Our locally manufactured product is now the equal or better than any product produced overseas.

The local manufacturers include Team Sports Surfaces, Tiger Turf, Australian Sports Technology and The Grass Manufacturers, all of which are active in supplying the export market.
